Assistant Professor of Veterinary Microbiology Department of Anand
Kamdhenu University Dr. Rafiuddin Mathakia says, We study all animal
diseases in depth. Lumpy virus also studied. But till date nothing has
come to mind that drinking the milk of an infected animal has any effect
on humans. So far no such case has come up in India or Gujarat.
Dr. Rafiuddin Mathakia said that, we bring milk or we come there milk
comes in two ways. One is packed milk in a plastic pouch and the other
is loose milk from the dairy. The milk that comes in the pouch is
pasteurized. So the germs are already destroyed in it. While the milk
that comes from a free-range dairy should not be drunk directly.
Mandatory milk should be warmed and drunk only. By heating the milk, the
germs in it are destroyed. Recently Maruti Suzuki Laungh New Alto K10.
Lumpy disease isn’t new, it’s been around since 2019
Nowadays we get all sorts of questions about dairy cattle but Lumpy
disease is not something of today. Giving details about this, Anand
Kamdhenu University Animal Husbandry Department Director Dr. Snehal
Patel said in a conversation with Divya Bhaskar, Lumpy virus is not a
disease that has come nowadays. The first case in India was reported in
Orissa on 19 November 2019 and then slowly spread to other states. Lumpy
virus caused havoc in Maharashtra last year and a number of cattle were
affected, but no humans were reported to have been affected by drinking
cow’s milk. Therefore, it can be understood from the example of
Maharashtra that even if the milk of a diseased animal is consumed, it
does not affect the human being. Recently Gujarat Police board has
decide to increase Gujarat Police Grade Pay.
Avoid drinking milk shakes outside Usually outside cold drinks shops use raw milk more and milk shake is
made from this milk. So avoid drinking raw milk and also avoid drinking
milk shake outside. Remember to keep the milk that comes home warm.
Give warm milk especially to children. Heated milk kills germs.
Cow’s milk production in Gujarat has been severely affected due to
the outbreak of Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD). Domestic dairy company Amul
has suffered a loss of 50,000 liters per day in milk procurement through
its milk unions, mainly in Kutch and Saurashtra. Although this shortage
is not immediately worrisome, but it is expected that if this virus is
not controlled, then next summer the milk industry will suffer a major
setback. A total of 20 million liters of milk is being procured daily by
the Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (CCMMF) and its 18
milk union members, of which 42 per cent is cow’s milk.
GCMMF Managing Director gave information
According to RS Sodhi, Managing Director, GCMMF, “The quantity of
milk procurement has come down by 50,000 liters per day (LPD), but it is
not much now. The impact of this disease is being seen more in
Saurashtra. North, Central And only sporadic cases have been reported in
Kutch as compared to South Gujarat regions.”
According to GCMMF vice-chairman and chairman of Sarhad Dairy, the
most severely affected district is Kutch, which has the largest
population of livestock. After this disease the production of cow’s milk
collection has decreased from 15,000 to 20,000 liters per day.
President of Sarhad Dairy gave informationAccording to the chairman of Sarhad Dairy, there is a 50-70 per cent
reduction in milk production in a cow recovering from LSD. “We dread a
cow milk emergency in Gujarat soon in the event that LSD isn’t
controlled. Any animal under stress will have a negative impact on their
milk production,” he said.
